Hello, my name is Mariameba, a very Mexican species of amoeba (Mariameba mexicanus). I will be your companion and guide at all times. It is an honor for me to give you the warmest welcome to the XXth International Meeting on the Biology and Pathogenicity of Free-Living Amoebae, which will take place in the Riviera Maya, in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico, from November 3rd to 7th, 2025.

The main purpose of this meeting is to explore the latest advances and ongoing challenges in the diagnosis, treatment, pathogenicity, diversity, biology, and ecology of free-living amoebae.
The program will feature keynote lectures, as well as oral and poster presentations. A social day at the ruins of Chichen-Itza, one of the wonders of the world, and as a plus several social and cultural activities will be offered, including a welcome cocktail, a Mexican night and a gala dinner.
We look forward to your participation and to advancing scientific knowledge in the field of free-living amoebae together.
